The more knowledge I gain about God, this deep dive into theology that I am undertaking, the more I realize that I do not know very much at all. I do not know why God chose our family to undergo a season of hardship and struggle. I do not know why He did not intervene countless times when He could have changed our entire world. I do not know know He moved at this time, at this hour, to bring justice and restoration while so many others are still waiting.
1 Peter 2:9-10 states the following:
For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
We have been chosen for such a time as this to share the goodness of God. We have been called out of darkness, into the light. We have received mercy. We have an identity as God's people, not because we have Jewish blood, but because Jesus paid the price for us and we now belong to Him.
My husband is home, where he belongs. God is doing the miracle of restoring time that the locust have eaten. We are the people of Benjamin. It is amazing what some of the promises are for those that stand with him...
Benjamin (Which means son of my right hand). -Genesis 35:18
...giving Benjamin five times as much as he gave the others. -Genesis 43:34
Moses said this about the tribe of Benjamin: “The people of Benjamin are loved by the Lord and live in safety beside him. He surrounds them continuously and preserves them from every harm.” -Deuteronomy 33:12
And the people of Benjamin will occupy the land. -Obadiah 1:19
So as the people of Benjamin, we rejoice today in the God of our salvation that rescues His chosen people from the lies of their enemies and calls them priests in the Kingdom of Light.
