Shipwrecked
Acts 27:1-28:10
Paul lived a rough life. Today's passage is long but with the read. Paul warns the sailors not to sail. Paul made tents for a living, so he was not a sailor with a great and vast knowledge of sailing. But he was given a divine Word from God that said this wasn't going to go well. They did not heed his warning. A hurricane came up and destroyed the ship. Paul had the classic "I told you so" oppurtunity.
Sometimes the shipwrecks in our life are caused by our own choices, but sometimes we find ourselves stranded on an island because of the consequences of others. On this island of Malta, after surviving months in jail, 2 weeks in a hurricane and a shipwreck, Paul gets bitten by a snake.
In a miraculous turn of events, Paul was not killed by the venomous snake, and the people on the island were amazed. He then began to heal the sick.
I don't know the circumstances around the storm in your life right now. If you are headed towards the eye of a hurricane or just find yourself on an island that you never planned to visit. God is working.
He is doing miracles right now, often unseen and unnoticed by the very people praying for them. Look for your oppurtunity to do your part. Find others that are struggling in the shipwrecks of life and come alongside them. Supply them with what they need to finish their journey strong.
What has been shipwrecked in your life?
Ask God to reveal the miracles he is working, ask for eyes to see the unseen.
