Next Steps

I have passed yet another milestone that I have not fully processed through. I am living a miracle.

Since I was a young girl I have had a goal of getting my Ph.D. I love learning and have spent my entire life doing so. I am an avid reader and researcher. I have homeschooled my children for the last 16 years, learning alongside them as I create lesson plans.

More recently, I have gone back to school myself. This last week, I graduated with my Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University, with highest distinction. My husband and I went back east for the ceremony and as I walked the campus and watched as all the Ph.D's in my field were hooded, the fire was once again sparked within me. Yes, my Master's chapter is finished, by my story isn't.

I will keep going, but I am waiting to see how that looks like. I am circling the Ph.D. program with prayer and with hope-filled expectation to see God move in yet another amazing way. To this point, I have been granted scholarships to pay for my education in cash, on time, in full. So I will continue to wait and see what the marching orders are for this next season.

Meanwhile, if I have learned anything, it is that waiting is an active experience. I am continuing to learn and be trained for ministry. Currently, I am getting all my Christian life coaching certificates completed through the IACC. I hope to do this in the next couple months and so you might begin to see a transformation of this site into something a little different. In time, I hope to be able to offer services online and be able to reach those outside of my immediate area with personalized help and Bible-based counseling.

Additionally, I will be writing. I know that I have been given the gift of words, but I have yet to fully step into that role. Too often I feel that writing is just for me and not for the benefit of others, but this is changing as I become even more transformed by Christ into the woman I am today. Inspiring hope is one of my core aspirations, and as I was reminded by so many people in the last weeks, nothing inspires more hope than my personal story of resiliency.
